We have Intuit POS in our shop and want to have an ecommerce site which will sync web sales, so our inventory and customer sales history databases are updated in near real time. One shopping cart noted for this is PDG Commerce. Problem is PDG is a bit long in the tooth and it's compiled PERL. We will be wanting to be very creative and aggressive in our e-commerce model and are thinking about affiliate programs (as affiliate), drop shipping, syncing with filfillment centers, Amazon, eBay, etc. So we need an excellent open source cart which is well documented and supported, with a modern architecture. One that a developer suggested to me is CS-Cart which is based on PHP/mySQL. Unfortunately Intuit's web connector, which syncs PDG Commerce with the POS system, does not work with CS-Cart and eCC, a $40/month web based solution from Webgility, would replace it. Just wondering if anyone has experience with CS-Cart, or any other relevant comments or recommendations. I feel kind of boxed-in to PDG Commerce when I feel we will be needing much more flexibility than it offers. I'm sure in the hands of an experienced developer it will be solid, but it is what it is; more or less an evolutionary dead end. Thanks for any help in a decision which I know I'll be living with down the pike.
