What is the current state of affairs regarding the customization possibilities of the macOS GUI? I still mainly work with Mojave, which I have customized to my needs. Customizing the appereance.car files, LiteIcon, MenuTint... etc.

Ventura is now running on the second machine. I don't like the new design since big sur at all! What customization options are there regarding the Dock icons, Finder icons, menu bar, etc.?

Thanks for the help!

It depends on what customization you would want. If you pull up Inspector in Finder with many different files and folders you can change the icon. Dock icons can be changed in a similar way. My current dock has iOS style icons, "x-raying" the contents of groups.

You can still do that, but unfortunately you have to turn off System Integrity to do so. Theres a discord channel were they're trying to develop a theming engine; its called Glow. Which is easier to customize then changing each image in the .car files. https://discord.gg/MWJWpKPr
