As you can see by my name i'm new to the customizing. I would like to know how do I change my phone dialer and message icon ? I have open ssh and winscp. What size should the icons be and where exactly are these icons located on the phone ?

I did try google and all I seen was the dial pad and that's not what I wanna change. I come here for a little help
Do you intend on using Winterboard?
If you do, you can create a .theme folder in your ThemeXXXXX folder in /Var with the icons in their relevant bundles.

I have winterboard installed and have used it to change themes but that's as far as I've gone with it. I would like to use my own icons.

I understand that. But aren't you asking someone to show you how? Well if you read how to make a theme, all you do is change the icon to a new one in an existing theme you like. I was going to sit here on my iPad and type out how to do it, but just pull the stuff out you need from the tutorial.
