How do you customize sounds? System preference shows the different sounds but how do I apply those to certain actions?
i.e. The trash can makes a sound when I drop something into it. How do I change that sound?
Once I get that down I'd like to learn how to add custom sounds that didn't come basic.
I have an iMac and I'm running Tiger

(I know it's a stupid question, but I'm new to Apple and I'm MS conditioned) :(

Thanks everyone.

Apple does not provide a way to change the file copy or trash sounds, only the alert sound. To add a new alert sound, you just need to add an .aiff of the sound to the sounds folder inside the Library.
