Cut down At&t to a micro sim, will it work on iphone4?

I was just wondering if it's possible so i dont have to buy a microsim. And will the iphone 4 recognize the cut down sim?

another question is does the iphone 4 require to you reactivate again in order for it to function. Or does it work like the 3gs and just activate on it's own after you insert the sim? I just dont want it to mess up with my data plan. I have a good discounted rate going and I want to save it.
