cutting down of sim cards

have you done it? has it worked?
I was told yesterday that it doesn't always work because the coding is different on the chip!

this guy was from a phone repair shop, not tied to any operators

$25 for something you can do with an exacto knife for a few bucks..... Ok. Yes it can be done by hand and there are some actual posts here related to cutting your sim. Search is your friend, use it.

I cut mine with knife, and it works very well with iPad 3G.

It's been done successfully. I don't have the background to refute the phone repair shop guy's claim, but I think he was BSing you.
