i know, i know, i know...this is pretty low on the list of things to whine about...

but...

i have 5 drives on osx...two of them are for osx/os9...the others...just data and work space (video)...what i don't like though is that they keep creating two folders - "desktop folder" and "temporary items"...

anybody know a way to make these stop recreating over and over (aside from writing a startup script)? i'm not sure why they are important...maybe they are...i don't know...

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one this affects! It bugs me too.

I tried creating a ".hidden" file in the root directory of the volume that kept showing these two folders, but so far it hasn't had any effect. I deleted the Desktop Folder and Temporary Items folder for now, so hopefully the next time they are created the Finder will obey the .hidden file and keep them out of sight! We'll see...
