I do not have my ipod touch yet, but i noticed that on QuickFreedom
you get the option to install Cydia or Installer or both

i though i might have read that cydia is the replacement of installer
so do you need both

what is the difference between the two

thank you

oh ok , i just took a look at icy, and it looks much better,
so you need to use cydia to get icy, but after that is there a way to remove cydia?

cydia has everything. installer is pretty out of date and buggy. from the reports in icy it is buggy too and it does not have many apps. cydia can be slow but it works well and it can be counted on.

I just rejailbroke my iPhone after a few months of stock. I only bothered installing Cydia if that helps.

Last time I jailbroke I don't think I even got installer to work once. It just crashed constantly.

Get Cydia, but also get Icy if you wish.
Cydia has way more features, but Icy is fast and stable, unlike Cydia.
Keep Cydia around just in case you need one of it's features or reliability.
