do updates work like in the app store, where it notifies you when there is a update available.
 
No, you have to open the app and let it check then reload the sources. Then it'll let you know.
 
No. Cydia will do all of that. All you have to do is open it, wait for it to download the new sources, reload the data, then it'll check for updates. If you have any updates the "Changes" tab at the bottom will have a red badge with the new updates and the Springboard icon will have a badge as well.
 
so you just have to check every single one if there is a new update/version?

Nooooo, simply start Cydia and the number of updates will be in a red bubble, white number on the Changes icon at the bottom of the screen.

thats what i was trying to ask, thanks. i whats going to say, how am i supposed to know if i have an update??? lol
