this happened to me too, couldn't fix it so I restored. Hopefully you have better luck

yep i was getting that error as well... I was stuck in an endless loop, even when I got the error to go away I would try to add another source and the errors would come back

Hmm... I have some different sources than you, but mine is formatted as such:

deb http://david.ashman.com/beta/ ./
deb http://apt.123locker.com/ ./
deb http://cydia.hackulo.us/ ./
deb http://apt.iphone-storage.de/ ./

In comparison, yours has an extra ./ at the beginning and is missing a ./ on the last row. Try the format above and see if it fixes it for you. No idea how it would have gotten like that, though.

Yep, if he fixes (deletes) the first line and fixes (corrects) the fifth line, saves it, it should be OK.

He might have to then run "apt-get update" from the root in mobile Terminal to get it to all work

I tried deleting the ./ on each end and get the same error. I don't think mobile terminal is an option since I don't have it now and Cydia nothing shows up.

I'll try adding it on each end when I get home from wrk

Thanks iPhone, and Gizmo, I added the last ./ and cydia came back like a champ!

Thought I had just the extra character up front and didn;t think about a missing character on the end of the string!!

Again Thanks so much!!!!:D

Yoooooo're welcome :)

My issue is a little different. Cydia remembers the bad repo I tried to add even though I deleted the source in Cydia, the .repo and in Cydia.list. The error message only shows up when I add a new repo!

I got that issued and the only way to solve it was to restore/rejailbreake, However I may had something else going on since many...many people have reported success with Cyfix, give it a try.

Script is HERE

V1.6 Download it and put it on /usr/bin/
Change permission to 775

them just add any repo you want, let it get that "bad" repo back..and them run in the command line (terminal or SSH) cyfix http:www.badrepoaddress.com/repo

and that should do it for you

Installed Cyfix using iFile then went to Cydia and installed Open SSH & WinSCP. SSH into the phone, ran the command line and deleted the bad repo. To confirm, I added a new repo and no error messages! Thank for helping out!
