Cydia crashing, iphone 1st gen, 3.1.3

Help please!

I have a 1st generation iphone. It is unlocked and jailbroken to run on my non ATT service.

It was working fine then the other day I went into cydia to see if there was anything for marking all emails as read without having to open each email.

Cydia crashed and now will not run.

It starts for a second, the little 'busy' animation thingie runs for a second then boom, it totally vaporizes and goes back to the desktop!

How can I fix this? I don't want to start all over again, that's a nightmare.

Please tell me there's an easy way to fix this!!

Its a simple solution. Follow this link. Be careful though, as it asks you to SSH and delete some file. Make sure you delete the right files ONLY.

I have an unlocked 1st gen iphone too. Personally, I prefer to go with 3.1.2. There was less hassle that way.

I did precisely, exactly that, to the letter. Still nothing.
