i jailbroke my 3gs using purplera1n..duh.. and was using cydia the whole day!

now all of a sudden it crashes when i try and open it.. i was thinking of just redownloading it with freeze but i deleted freeze because i thought it was usless once i got cydia up and running -_-

you guys have any idea on what i should do??

maybe restore my 3gs and reJailbrake it... ?

has anyone with a 3gs encounter this problem with cydia yet?

I am having this same problem - did you ever fix it? If so, how did you do it? I have reinstalled Cydia with Freeze however and Cydia still crashes even after a reinstall.

Thanks!

Usually if i have any problem i reboot my phone, you should try the same and see if it workS. (hold the power button and home button at the same time until the apple appears)

I have done this - no luck!

I had the same problem as I restored from an old restore point.

At that point I opted to do another restore but set up as a new phone.
On the first sync I choose not to apps, sync music, email or contacts.
Went thru the jailbreak again.
No issues whatsoever.
Then went back and synced all the other components.

I think this all took 45 minutes

Sounds like this is my only option. Thanks for the steps - I will copy that as it was successful for you.
