I just bought an iPhone 3GS on orange network and got the network unlocked for any network and fount out Cydia has been installed when I didn't want this. I am looking to uninstall cydia as some of my apps are not working however I have been told if I plug into iTunes and restore my phone will go back to orange. Is this true and what can I do about getting cydia removed

Go to settings/general/about/modem firmware and let us know what version its on.
If the seller told you that if you restore that you will lose the unlock then dont restore cause you will lose the unlock.
If you dont like cydia dont use it or open it, cydia has nothing to do with your appstore apps not working.

It's on version 06.15.00 and does this mean that my phone is jailbreaked as I did not want this

As mentioned, if the seller said not to, then don't. :p
It depends on what Cydia apps are installed.. though I highly doubt any of them are to blame for programs not opening. Seeing as you have no choice but to keep it installed; open Cydia and list whats installed here.
I'm sure the seller did a restore before selling, so it should just be the default Cydia stuff. Though who knows lol..

My sky go app is now saying not compatible with jailbreaked devices aw great laugh please help someone lol #

Then you should be carefull what you purchase next time.
Unfortunatelly you're stuck with the ipad baseband installed.
You cannot restore or update to stock firmware cause your phone will get stuck at the Apple logo and wont restore.
Also your GPS function most likelly dont work and you need cydia and ultrasnow installed to stay unlocked.
Sorry for the bad news.

Unofficial unlocked require Cydia, you CANNOT removed it (or the packaged that are installed)

If you don't want Cydia, you need to pay full price, for an Factory unlocked phone.

Is not really that hard.
