I would like to know what the easiest way to type cyrillic characters on my mac would be. Does anyone know a good program?

System Preferences -> Language & Text -> Input Sources -> Russian (Phonetic)

Tick "Show Input Menu in Menu Bar" and add a keyboard shortcut for maximum comfort.

I use it and it's супер конвениент.

ok i found it (using bulgarian actually), and activated bulgarian phonetic, but im a bit lost after that.. how do i use it, and how do i set up that shortcut.

nm, i figured out how to use it добре. im still looking for the letter that makes the 'ch' sound, 'sh' and 'sht'. Also how do i make a shortcut, i dont know what this app is called.

I'm not 100% it's like this in Leopard. But as you can see, there are input source keyboard shortcuts available.

I'm not sure which characters you mean. I have a Swedish keyboard on my Mac. Ш is under 'w', ч is under 'h' and щ is under '<>' button. But I also use the Russian cyrillic layout.

yup, i found a nifty pic on wikipedia of the layout, im all set now! мерси!
