I bought the D-Link DWA-140 adapter to connect wirelessly to a D-Link DIR-655 router. However, when I insert the adapter into a USB port of my MacMini C2D, it is not recognized. The CD that was included only contains drivers for Windows.

When I read specs on web pages I find some documents that state that the DWA-140 is compatible with OS X 10.3 or later, and some documents only state compatability with Windows.

Anybody got this to work with Mac? I inserted it into my sons PC and it was immediately recognized.

Are there any settings in OS X that I must change? I have disabled AirPort.

Thanks for your help!

Drivers for D-Link DWA-140 wireless N USB adapter

Hello,

A friend bought the same adapter for his first gen iMac and the dealer pointed him to the following URL to dowload a driver.

Go to http://www.ralinktech.com/ then click on the 'support' link and then on 'Macintosh'.

The ralink part number for the D-Link DWA-140 is USB
(RT2870). It supports Mac OS X 10.3/10.4

DWA-140 problems on Mac

Just like mariew4455, I was given the dongle by Virgin.

Using the Ralink utillity, it appears that I am getting a connection but cannot find a port in the Network Configurations window to join the connection up.

And even if I did, what information is needed to be entered and where?

Please can anyone help?

Thanks for the link but I already have the that latest driver.

The orange light on the dongle flickers showing it is receiving okay. The Ralink shows my server is connected okay.

On my Network pane it shows a green light and indicates I am connected to the web BUT my Firefox is not connecting with any active web pages.

Please advise.
