I was looking arround online for a game to buy when I stumbled on a site called Direct2Drive. Has anyone used it before? I don't want to shell out my money to a scam, so I figured I'd do some asking. Thanks for any info!

I have not used it, but know people who have.
It is not a scam. It is part of GameSpy, IGN, etc. You legally own a copy/license.

I purchased Defense Grid from D2D and could even register the key in Steam (hooray for achievements!), and they only charge you in US$, which might be interesting for foreign customers whose currency is stronger than the dollar at the moment.

I've never had any problems with it either - in fact, I would rate it pretty highly. As someone already mentioned, Steam is worth a look too.
