The Sky News website has an interesting demonstration of D3O, an impact-resistant foam currently being trialled for various uses. Putting some inside motorcycling clothing would prevent quite a few bruises I'm sure. The best bit of the demo is when the presenter hits the D3O inventor over the head with a shovel
