Ok so my dad's birthday is the 3rd of April so I need to get him a gift along with my sister and my mom but I can only think of one thing. I am thinking of getting him one of those electronic picture frames that I can hook up into flickr or whatever. Those seem expensive but I need to get him a gift because I'm gonna miss it for a track meet so I need to make it up to him. I want to spend a decent amount but not too much because I'm trying to save up for a MBP, so I'm thinking 250/300 max for a gift which is actually a lot.

Basically what is a good gift for my dad is who is over 50 (Not telling you his approx. age) and likes gadgets.

Also what are some good brands for digital picture frames.

Thanks,
ChrisN

Hes the one that gave me all of my macs so a gift card could work so I'll get that but does anyone have a digital picture frame?

The digital picture frame is a great idea - if you have the time (and the photos) you might also think about an Apple photobook. Best present in the world!

My dad is the same age, ish.

I get him watches, for the most part. He collects them.

What hobbies does he have?

An :apple:TV sounds like a good idea if he likes Macs and stuff.

My mom loved the calendar I made her for her birthday. Also, I made a photobook of a vacation. (Both from iPhoto '07). They both turned out perfect.

we purchased a digital picture frame for my parents and actually loaded it up with pics for them of the family and such--- they loved it and were able to put it right out without having to load the pics themselves. I unfortunately do not remember the brand, but thought I would throw the idea out to you!

I was going to mention getting a Vineyard Vines tie for him, but you said he's into gadgets...

I just had my birthday this week. I told them I knew what I wanted, just take me to the local sporting goods store. I picked it out myself, and I'm happy with it. I let them pick out the birthday cake flavors.
