If I have a new 15" Macbook Pro that uses one of the thunderbolt ports on my 27" iMac to use it as an external monitor, can I daisy chain a second external display to the imac, so the Macbook Pro is using two external displays?

So: Macbook Pro -> 27" iMac in Target Display -> 42" Plasma

Nope.

Would you mind elaborating? What about this setup doesn't work, and why?

As an alternative, the Thunderbolt display is known as the solution for daisy chaining daul displays. If I have a Thunderbolt display, Can that be the in-between with a plasma hooked up to that?

Not unless your plasma TV has a Thunderbolt port.

In other words... Nope.

The TB display is known as the solution for daisy chaining TB displays

You need a pegasus raid drive or maybe the lacie thunderbolt one, otherwise it won't work with the plasma
