Has anyone tried to daisy chain a display port 1.2 monitor with a macbook pro with success?

Has anyone tried to daisy chain a display port 1.2 monitor with a macbook pro with success?

Thunderbolt only supports displayport 1.1. While I don't know of anyone who has actually tried it, we can extrapolate that it will not support daisy chaining which requires 1.24. Thunderbolt displays can be daisy chained because they actually carry two displayport 1.1 signals which is different than carrying just 1 of dp 1.24

Daisy chaining

I've got my 2012 11" Macbook Air driving a Dell u3014 (sweet!) using the dell provided dp to minidp cable.

I see the u3014 supoorts Displayport 1.2 - which means I might just be able to use a dp to dp cable to drive a second monitor (...u2412) i dont have a male to male adapter so can't ty this out (there's a dp out on the monitor) - but I'll pick one up and give it a try. It sounds like this won't be supported until Thunderbolt 2 support with next gen mb pros :(

I'll let you know.

Actually, DP 1.2 is supported with redwood ridge which SHOULD be in the 2013 Macs. I haven't found anything to verify. It will not work with the 2012's or older.

I tried to hook up a second monitor (via Displayport 1.2) today - and no luck.

I can drive my Dell U3014 with a 2012 MBA 11", but get an error when I try to daisy chain on another monitor.

Still, a 30" monitor driven by the air is nice.
