I'm trying to daisy chain two external non-TB monitors to my MBP early 2011. For some reason the second monitor isn't receiving a signal from the first monitor. Any ideas? Thanks.

Mini DP on your MBP does not support daisy chaining. It isn't until very recently the spec supports it, and I'm not even sure the newest rMBPs support daisy chaining through mini DP. Either way, you would have to have Thunderbolt, or a very new computer and two very new monitors that all have the latest mini DP spec.
