App Q&A testing by request.
Ok, I have the new iMac 27".

I have the Firewire 800 to TBolt adapter.

I have a couple of Firewire 800 drives and many fw400 drives.

I have a FW800/400 converter on the way in the mail.

Is it possible to daisy chain some (maybe even no more than 2 at a time) the drives to Tbolt.

like fw800HDD -> fw800hdd-> Tbolt-adapter -> iMac

or

fw400HDD -> adapter -> fw800hdd-> Tbolt-adapter -> iMac

or even

fw400HDD -> adapter -> fw800hdd-> fw800hdd-> Tbolt-adapter -> iMac ?

Normally can daisy chain up to at least 4 FW drives. Some FW devices have issues and can limit the number of drives chained together. The FW 800<->400 cable will not affect the number of drives in the chain.

Your other choice is to use a FW hub.
