I have a Mac mini (2020) arriving today from Apple and two (2) new Lenovo monitors arriving tomorrow. The monitors are 24" with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 and have USB-C.

When I ordered my Mac mini, I also ordered one (1) Apple Thunderbolt 3 cord.

What is the "best" way to set this up? Perhaps using the Thunderbolt 3 cord from the Mac mini to Monitor #1 and then a USB-C cord from Monitor #1 to Monitor #2?

Advice/recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

Also any tips about using two monitors with a Mac mini and the macOS? This is my first time ever using two monitors!

My use will be mostly office work (documents, spreadsheets, pdfs, etc.) and web browsing. No gaming. No super heavy graphic uses or video editing, etc.

Thank you.

Stay safe and healthy.

Cheers,

An addendum: OK, on another forum a poster reminded me that you can Daisy Chain two Thunderbolt 3 monitors, but not monitors that are USB-C, but not Thunderbolt 3.

When I first started my search for new monitors for my Mac mini, I initially focused only on Thunderbolt 3 monitors. But, learned the current selections are somewhat limited, and pushed my budget constraints beyond where I wanted to go. Presumably there will be more monitors coming on the market that are Thunderbolt 3, but not many today.

So, I guess I'll need to run separate cables from the Mac mini to each of the two monitors, correct?

And, thus, no cables between the two monitors, correct?

Thank you.

Cheers,
