Hi,

I have 3 x WD 1TB FW800 hard drives. I was told that I can daisy chain them. Does anyone have any experience with this and if you would recommend it or not?

At the moment, I have 1 hard drive using FW800 another FW400 and the last using USB 2.0. So as you can see, I would rather just daisy chain them and get the most out of FW800

Thanks'
Ben

Daisy chaining works great. It's one of the advantages of FW. You have all three mounted as separate drives while preserving FW800 speeds (and leaving your other ports free). That's why FW drives come with sets of two FW ports, be it 400 or 800.

I you really want to get bang for your bucks (and you have a mac pro or older mac pro) you can place them in an external raid enclosure and conncect them with esata. (I don't know if it was esata or something else, I remember you needed the express card slot from the macbook pro).
