Hi all.
My first time on this forum so I've probably posted this in the wrong area!
My wife has a 3G 8gb iPhone, which recently developed a problem with the mute switch. A common occurrence it seems.
I'm a bit handy with a set of screwdrivers so bought the new switch and associated gubbins and set about opening up the phone. All was going well until I tried to get the battery out. I knew it was stuck into the case so carefully tried to pry it out with my plastic spudger thing. Unfortunately I caught the outer metallic foil cover and tore a small hole in it at one end.
My question is... Is this now dead and need replacing?
There were a few other issues that I will ask about once this is solved! Needless to say my wife has now pinched my 3GS so I'm back on my old hateful HTC.
Thanks!
