Bought the original midnight blue iphone 6 leather case, and one month into it, I accidentally dropped it on gravel. It now has a large dent on the bottom left side of it, pretty annoying and make it look terrible.

Any recommendations on how to treat it? To try and make it less obvious, maybe massage it in or treat it with leather product?

Maybe I should go buy a new one....or suck it up and get used to the fact that the leather case is only good until you drop it.

Interested in your thoughts in how to take care of a damaged original iPhone leather case

I use the black apple leather case on my 6+. I love it, and have been very happy with it. I can imagine your frustration with it being damaged, but look on the bright side. At least it was the case and not the phone getting damaged.

Any sort of leather treatment is likely to change the appearance a lot.

Start by slightly dampening the affected area and gently burnishing with the back of a teaspoon (the bowl, not the handle) or a round chopstick.

Suck it up.

Seriously, any leather case including the Apple one is going to scuff and tear when dropped on any surface except maybe carpet...if it drops from any length. I dropped my 6 covered by a black Apple leather case last week onto an asphalt parking lot from waist high, and although the phone itself was fine, it put a divot in my case that looks unsightly...to my anal retentive eyes at least. I'm super duper picky that way. I like my stuff to look tight.

I just bought another case at Best Buy to have around in case it starts to look really bad.

Know how you feel, a few years ago my iphone 4 slipped out my hands only owning it a few days ... Lucky me had case on it, the phone survived, the case didn't... It was also a not to cheap case, around 40 euros...
Yes it hurts a while....
But after all... It was the case that was kaput, not my precious expensive 700 euro phone...
Just if it is only little damaged.... Keep it for using in specific situations, like when it might become dirty, it adds some story to the case too.... Some things need to "live"

My current brown leather Apple iPhone 6 case has allready some scuffs on it, I use it in my car in a carkit, putting it in rubs the walls. It lives.
