I've been helping out a friend with his broken macbook pro for the last week or so and I'm at a loss now. This macbook is clearly physically damaged but I'm not sure about the internals. I wiped the hard drive clean, reformatted, and installed Mountain Lion per users request. After about 5 test boots and checking that the computer worked alright I returned it to him. He was out of town and tried booting for the first time and told me that it boots to a blank white screen with high fan speed. Aside from trying an SMC reset what else could be done to fix this besides buying new parts/computer and what would the causes be?
