damaging lineout

i stuck in some 3.5mm audio stuff in the lineout. I thought the lineout took normal 3.5mm plugins at the time. noticed it was a pretty tight fit with the 3.5m inside and had to pull back hard to get them out a few times

could I have done damaged the lineout by plugging in and out a few times? what are the chances? btw, i know i'm probably coming off paranoid, i don't care, i have to have this answered.

As long as the plugs where undamaged 3.5 TRS plugs, you did nothing wrong.

I noticed that both the headphone jack and the USB ports are very stiff on my new MBP. Probably just the new machine effect, I'm used to USB ports that require very little pressure to plug devices in.

No damage most likely
