I have a NAS which currently is using SMB shares for folder access, but does apparantly support NFS and AFP in future software releases (not tried yet)
SMB access is a pain on OSX. On my mac mini I have a script that tries to mount the drives every minute, unless they're already mounted. That works kind of ok but isn't perfect.
I'm looking at replacing my MBP with a MBA and so I'd want to access my media files directly from the NAS - eg photo library in lightroom stored locally, referencing photos on NAS.
but without reliable shares it'll just break all the time and be a royal PITA.
Any suggestions?
