I just paid 6888 RMB (1126.52 US Dollar according to google right now) for the 6 Plus 64GB version.

WOW WTF!!! so expensive!

well you could order one contract free from US for 668€, at your price two actually ;) but ever since Apple has crappy Quality Check its quite a risk since the US warranty doesnt work in EU unless something has changed recently

unfortunately I looked into this but I can't buy the unlocked US version because that won't work on chinese LTE.

sucks.

damn! what's up with iphone price outside of USA?

U.S. doesn't have a 17% VAT, for one thing. And U.S. advertised prices don't include state and local sales taxes (maybe 8% on average) like most other countries, so the price difference is a bit of an illusion if you look at off-contract purchases. It's mostly a difference in taxes charged.

I'm in the US and the 64GB here (off contract) was 1011.99 including AppleCare+.

That's including sales tax for my state (North Carolina).

Not a huge price difference. Taxes in a given area play a big part.

Yeah, most Americans are used to doing 'tax math' in our heads, rounding up 10% when we see a price. So...

Some of our lower price is an illusion
Some of our lower price is inferior warranty
Some of our lower price is true

We also pay way more for less phone service

And most of us would happily trade that true bit for y'all's healthcare system. Where we pay double for &#@% service.

That's true. I guess after 10% taxes in Cali, I would be looking at around 950 USD.

I think it's just that I've never bought a unlocked iPhone before so it's a bit of a sticker shock to buy an over $1000 phone.

Yeah. It really is. But, that's the way things are headed here in the U.S. carriers don't like subsidizing phones.

these days i travel so much i can't afford to have a locked phone.
it's really ****ing BS how apple doesn't sell certain versions unlocked in the US.

I actually think it sums up well over here in the UK.
Lots of people complain about the price, but compared to US contracts I think we do pretty well.

I am paying £43 a month. (Staff discount of £10)
I paid £184 upfront for an iPhone 6 - 128GB.

My plan gives me 7GB 4G, Unlimited mins, Unlimited texts and 24 months of Spotify access which runs alongside the contract.

I am happy with that.

I think the 64GB price is £619 inc tax , and you can get a sim free Giff Gaff plan for £18 a month which gives 2000 minutes , unlimited texts and unlimited data. (Also does 4G now apparently)

Really don't know why people are complaining.

I'm in Los Angeles, purchased an off-contract iPhone 6 Plus 128GB and paid the following:

Subtotal $949.00
Free Shipping $0.00
Estimated Tax $75.92
Order Total $1,024.92

May not be as much as the OP but it's not off by a ton.

U got the 128.
I got the 64.
Tax adds a lot though

OP definitely getting hit hard with taxes. I paid $900 including taxes on my 64 GB 6 Plus model.

Taxes and duty are separate from the actual price. Eg 2012 Camry used cost me $15,000 with tax. Sent it to my mom overseas, shipping $1500, import duty $6000. Total cost $22500.

After seeing your spending habits on your watches, I would've thought 1127 was a drop in the bucket for you.

Can't speak for other countries, but the Canadian dollar has been **** this year and now our iPhones cost even more. A few years ago it was the same price as in US, fx is screwing us :(

Apple sells all GSM phones unlocked when bought at full price. :)

The Verizon and T-Mobile phones are unlocked from the start and the AT&T are only locked if you are doing a subsidized upgrade.

well sure when our dollar is low it sucks but, its not far off the 64GB 6 Plus costs us $969CAD which is $867.42USD

which is only about $20 more than exchange rate

it would suck more if the exchange rate was closer to par and it was still $100 more
