Dictation is not my favorite. If I’m in a public place, I don’t want everyone else to know what I’m texting my wife. Plus it’s not very accurate in my language. And if there’s background noise, it’s even worse.

So I thought I just use keyboard. But that only seems to work in English and not in Danish?!? Is that really true? Why on earth would Apple limit me to English only?

Now if it just allowed me to use the keyboard as is and not try to autocorrect Danish into English, but that’s not even an option. How can I change it to Danish? I can sort of accept the lack of special characters (ÆØÅ), due to the limited space. But it autocorrects any attempt to write a Danish word to some gibberish in English.

Dictation is available in Danish by default.

what do your language/region settings say? mine says "mirror my iPhone" ... so I assume that whatever is possible on your iPhone should be possible on AW ...

It’s set to mirror my iPhone. But on my watch scribble and keyboard shows up in English and dictation in Danish.

I really thought this would be a no brainer for Apple. At least not try to interpret what I type as English. Just leave it.

Found a video that suggest to just add the language to your phone.

Tried to add Danish (well… remove and the re-add), but no luck.

And it turns out what happens in the video is that he only gets the dictation option in the new language. Not the keyboard.
