OP, I think this setting has been the #1 recommendation for users in dark mode threads for years. It’s somewhat there, but clearly not an actual dark mode.

macOS Mojave Dark Mode looks absolutely stunning but it should be pointed out the same effect has been possible with Linux for over ten years!!!

I don’t think anyone would argue has overcome some technical limitation for dark mode, they’ve just decided it’s time for a dark mode.

My desktop wallpaper is a black and white photograph, and I've been using dark mode for ages. It looks great to my eye, but ONLY in combination with the dark wallpaper.

It's looked terrible to my eye with the default wallpaper on previous releases of OS X.
