Anybody know if there's any way to force a website with a white background to make it gray/black? All of the apps are good and all but if everything on the web is still white, the retina burn is real.

Chrome 69 works on all websites with the "Dark Mode / Night Reader" extention. See screenshot below.

And you can choose between dark/light mode by clicking on the extension on the menu bar.

Aloha!

Bigger question... who cares about dark mode? Really...
Dark mode is the reason why I upgrade to Mojave day 1. Its more than an esthetic feature for me its an accessibility one. I have a hard time reading on white background/black text so I waited for years a dark mode and I know many people like me just use dark mode 100% of the time and will never go back to the light theme again.

And for those who wants extension for web browsers, I use Deluminate for chrome for years now, working great. And for Safari there's an extension called dark mode for Safari, it cost $2 but it works great as well.

Thanks for the explanation. I appreciate it...

We get it... you don't like dark mode. Many of us do including me. If you don't care about it, then why comment?

In case it wasn't clear, the "really..." was to seek insight and input. Sometimes, a question is a question.

The main drawback I've found so far is in Preferences for some apps, where a gray check mark hardly shows up against the dark background.
Agreed, there are parts of the system that don't work as well one way or the other. I've noticed it's hard to read highlighted selections when Orange is my accent color in light mode, where it looks nice in dark mode. I use Purple when I'm in light mode for that reason.
