Dark Mode Daily Reversion

Dark mode itself seems to work just fine for me. The issue I'm having is that every morning it reverts to light mode. Then I manually change it to dark again, and it stays all day. Next morning: back to light.

I've changed the wallpaper on each of my desktops to not use the dynamic wallpaper. I'd really prefer to have dark mode enabled all the time, but Mac OS seems to have other ideas. Has anyone else seen this or have any ideas how to get it to stay on dark all the time? Thanks.

Weird; and I was momentarily confused because I thought I remembered early talk of some option that allowed that to happen automatically, but I'm not aware that ever happened.
