Have recently gone to Big Sur on iMac 21.5" late 2015. Seems to work fine, except that, without any input from me, Screen goes into dark mode automatically at night. Hate dark mode: don't want it.

In System Preferences > General > Appearance: Light selected. Switch off, restart: dark mode active.

In "slider pane" top right of screen: Display > Dark Mode off selected. Switch off, restart: dark mode active.

Not even "auto" selected in "General > Appearance".

This does my head in. I don't want Dark Mode.

Is this a bug, or an incomplete something, or am I missing something? As far as I know there are no apps/programmes with dark mode preferences running, that might perhaps cause this through the back door (which in itself should be a no-no, anyway).

Same here. It does change when I change related settings (Night shift), or switch the Dark/Light mode from and back to Auto. But not by itself. Location services are ON and properly working.
