What is dark mode?

It's a feature that was never announced or promised by Apple. However, some bits of code discovered in the first beta of iOS 10.0 led some to speculate that Apple was working on the feature and that a release was imminent. No evidence of dark mode has been found in subsequent releases. The dark UI view found in the messages app is used for some of the full screen message effects like laser and fireworks. It is not necessarily an indication of an upcoming full dark mode feature.

I'm just excited about it for the iMessage. I hate the white.

Maybe you should read what MacDevil just stated.

Not sure what you are excited for. There is no evidence its coming. Hyping yourself up for nothing.

I hope, if Apple does release a dark mode, it's much better than the darkened stock clock app. That thing hurts my eyes to look at, I wish there was a way to make it white again.

Would be awesome. I've always wanted a dark mode on ios.

I'm hoping once apple switches to OLED they make the switch to a dark mode

Not only does it look awesome but it saves battery life so much (presuming apple switches to OLED)

I get almost double the battery life on my S7 with a dark theme, dark keyboard, dark background. It's awesome.

Yes. I hate it too.

I am not keen on a dark mode (I usually can't stand light text on dark backgrounds for long) but I know others are keen on it, so I want them to make it, and just that: a mode, which can be set, and preferably on a per-app basis.

with an option to change thickness of font (not size). I think the white text on black is hard to see as well as how fine it is.

Problem is apple doesn't like letting users have choices.

And another thing. This will be a "major" update in iOS xx.

Probably iOS 11. Big feature. Dark mode. Lol

If a full UI dark mode comes, I'm hoping that it is implemented as a user option.. I hate dark screens.
