Hopefully, I selected the right place to post this (I'm really sorry if it's not).

Okay, I have a Mac 17-in" PowerBook G4 and it works COMPLETELY fine. My only problem is the screen goes dark like it's asleep. I found a few websites that described to me what it might be, but in no way to fix it in PLAIN english for someone who knows nothing on how a laptop works. Basically, one website called it a "Dark Screen Symptom". Right now I have it hooked up to an external monitor so I can use it. As far as I can tell nothing is wrong except for the fact I can't see. I put a flashlight up to the screen and I can see everything fine... in the spot where the light hits, that is. I'm not to keen on holding a flashlight just to see what I'm doing on the computer. So, my guess is the backlight might of just burned out or something. Is there anyone who can tell me EXACTLY what is wrong and how to EXACTLY fix it in terms I understand. If you say I need a new screen or computer, that's just BS when all it is, is the damn light doesn't work AND if it does come down to that being the only answer... I no longer have love for my Mac.
