Darn!!! i wanted to buy a new MacBook Pro today but..

but... there is no Matte screen option!!! what happened to the matte option???
i cannt work on a glossy screen with all that glare..

Yes. This happened in October. You can get a cover for it or get a 17" (the latter is very probably not viable).

I think your best bet is to wait until WWDC in 2012. They might update it so it's exactly to your liking then.

That is, of course, if the world doesn't end that year.

Fine. So that gives him/her six months, roughly, to enjoy the new, perfectly updated MBP.

Results may vary. You can find pictures of the screens with and without the films over them to compare the look, but a film over a glossy screen won't look 100% like a regular matte screen.

Since they did come out with a non-glare (not sure if that's the same as matte) option for $50 more with the updated 17" MBP, there's always the chance that Apple could add that option for the 15" model when they do the next update... let's hope they do. I'm not a fan of the stick-on film on the glossy... it just seems cheap.

Regardless of whether you order it through Developers' Connector or otherwise, the 17" will still have an anti-glare option.

Macs are the new "trend" so im sorry geeks and professionals but you are no longer priority at apple. But if you need that matte option they will give it to you but you have to buy the most expensive lappy and for an additional 50$ you can have it. Sorry guys 15"+matte=dead remainder never.

I bet at wwdc the 13" now that it also has the unibody will be called a "macbook pro" it only makes sense. lol

since they are working on a cheaper line of consumer laptops/desktops.

I like it as well, but some don't like it or are used to matte. It's a shame that the option is no longer there, but that's how it is right now.
