I decided to bite the bullet and try moving a testing box over from Debian to OSX. Got all the basics set up, installed Darwinports to get all the good stuff, ran it's update feature:
sudo port -d selfupdate
Times out, saying it can't connect to the server. I can't ping it so it's not looking good. So I follow the instructions on the darwinports site to change it to rsync.macports.org in /opt/local/etc/ports/ports.conf but it does nothing. What do I do?!

Hm. Changed the sources.conf and that got it checking the correct server but it's still timing out. 'no address associated with nodename'
