Dashboard apps

I've found a couple of Dashboard apps that just don't seem to work in Lion--maybe built for older OS, but doesn't it seem like they can be adapted? Just simple widgets? And looking for really basic widgets there don't seem to be any around. It'd be nice to have a blogger, tumblr, or twitter widget for easy posting while in the middle of doing something else, but I can't seem to find apps that function.
