Hey everyone, my roomate and I found something particular. My widgets seem to zoom in from the right of the screen while his Powerbook the widgets zoom in from center. We're scratching our heads trying to figure out why this is...

Any thoughts?

Are you running a dual screen setup? My powerbook does that when its hooked up to an external monitor.

EDIT: Also, if you only have widgets on the left side of the screen... they'll only look like they are flying in form the left. I guess thats kind of obvious... don't mean to insult your intelligence...

Press F7 and see if it still does it. If that doesn't work try fn-F7.

As the poster above said, sounds like you have screen spanning on. F7 will turn on mirroring, and your Dashboard should look more normal.

Yeah, I get center on my iMac's single display and from the left on my dual displays at work.

Okay, I figured it out. OS X was preset for dual displays, despite the fact that I only have one display anyway. Thanks everyone!
