Last week my Dashboard "Currency" Converter stopped working in my 4,1>5,1 Mac Pro Mojave 10.14.6

Anyone else experience this recently ?

Now that you mention it, yes, mine has stopped working too. I wonder what's up with that?
All the other functions are fine.

The Dashboard Currency converter seems to get the data it needs to work from a Yahoo connection.

That connection no longer seems to exist or work.

At the same time, the "stocks" widget has quit working too. And that ALSO got its data feed from Yahoo.

I'm guessing that this has much to do with the deprecation of the dashboard on the Mac. Apple has discontinued it with Catalina and it's not going to appear in any future versions of the OS (as far as I can see).

I wouldn't be surprised if (up until recently) there was some kind of contract between Apple and Yahoo for Yahoo to provide the data feed that made these widgets work.

Apparently that contractual obligation has ended.
Hence... no more data from Yahoo.
And as a result... these widgets no longer will function.

I don't expect them start working again...

Dashboard Weather not working again . . Apple . . . . more like Windows everyday.

The dashboard weather widget seemed to be getting its data from Yahoo as well.

Re-read post 3 above.

I realized that yesterday :-(

Oh no, they really want people to move to Catalina :-(

The dashboard-widget for currency-conversions is really the thing that is holding me on Mojave (and the tales of a still-not-stable Catalina).

This guy fixed both the weather and currency converter widgets!
