Hello Again,

I have a new Macbook 2gb 160gb hd. When I click on dashboard and the widgets fly on my screen, it is not a smooth transition like on my imac. There is always a tiny pause first when the graphics begin to enter the screen. Not a big deal, but noticeable to my eyes.

Anyone know what's up with that?

Thanks,

cfs

Blame it on the Integrated Graphics...

It's not the integrated graphics. Dashboard is actually choppy even on some Macbook Pros. It's the driver and the driver for the X3100 is absolute crap. My wife's first-gen Macbook has smoother Dashboard/Dock/Expose/Genie Effect etc. than what I'm getting on my brand new 2.4GHz Macbook. She has a 'worse' integrated graphics card than I do.

Even for her, Tiger had a smoother dashboard than Leopard. But there is no reason her GMA 950 should have a smoother GUI than the X3100. Apple really needs to fix the driver. Every Macbook at the Apple Store had a choppy GUI and the employees are like "it doesn't look choppy to me". I guess most 'normal' people wouldn't notice.
