Dashboard sounds while i'm on my desktop?

I want dashboard sounds to play while i'm on my desktop. I know this is possible because certain widgets sound continue to play when I switch back to my desktop. What I have done is created a widget of my favorite radio station's stream. It plays just fine when I am on the dashboard, but when I switch back the sound stops. How can I get it to play continuous? Please help.

if you click the little " i " logo and the widget flips around and you can say "Play sound when dashboard is hidden" or whatever it says.. I recently did this myself.
