Dashboard Super Slow after 10.6.4

So after installing the latest OS update my Dashboard is incredibly slow and freezes for a good 20-30 seconds when opening it the majority of the time. Trying to use the manage option also seems to freeze or slow down the unit. I'm not sure how to fix this or if this was just a side effect of the latest OS.

Do you have any third-party widgets installed?

just a novelty Xbox 360 Avatar and a CPU monitor

Can you try removing those and seeing if its better?
