Hello, I'm new with these developer apps and would like to learn

Right now i'm trying to use a button to toggle hide on another part in a widget
if someone could help me code that I'd be grateful

also, any other advice to get me started would be great

Welcome to developing on macs!
To develop in Dashcode is quite simple. Did you look at all the provided sample codes? Maybe they can help. Also the Apple provided documents may help a lot. Are you familiar with HTML/CSS and especially Javascript? If not, search for it on Google. You'll find a lot :D

BTW another advice: If you want to develop on Macs I would recommend to start with Xcode because there you will be able to create stunning mac applications which aren't limited to the dashboard. But Dashcode is a good point to start.

Have fun in developing,

Linus

Thanks for replying!

I'm honestly not familiar at all with any of the coding and its a bit frustrating trying to guess at these codes since I don't know of any resources for them haha

I do plan on working with Xcode, I just thought making a widget would be a fun way to get myself used to it all

It is fun, you will see ;) And the results are great as well.

Have fun,
