Hey so i just got an iPhone and i was wondering does the data and voice cover normal charges all across the nation? We have a 500 Minute Family Nation talk plan. Also what about data? Can i go anywhere in the US that has edge or 3G networking and not be charged for roaming charges?

Im gonna be in Alaska next month, i don't wanna be billed a lot for roaming charges. ill probably take out the SIM before i leave and just use it as an iPod cause i don't think Alaska even has Edge coverage. Anyways should i be concerned?

Simply: Can i go anywhere in the US and not worry about my voice and data plan?

Yes you can. As long as your iPhone gets a signal anywhere in the US (including Alaska and Hawaii), you will not be charged roaming fees.
