Data CD with custom "DVD style" menu???

I've got a couple word documents and PDF files I need to burn to a CD. Is it possible to use a DVD style menu to access the files rather than opening the disk in Finder, Explorer, My Computer, etc? I'm thinking listing the document name in the menu and when the user clicks ENTER or SELECT it would open up the document with the appropriate program (Word, Excel, Adobe Reader). The CD needs to be PC compatible, not necessarily Mac compatible.
