Not sure if I understood: Is your SSD the boot drive (new drive), and your hdd is the old boot drive?
Assuming so, if the user account created on the SSD is the same as the one on your hdd, then you'll be able to access the user home directory on the hdd without doing anything, but if it is not the same then you have to change files' and directories' owner on the hdd.
