I had an iPhone 3G that I removed the screen from to try and fix the mute switch. I was never able to put the screen back on, and I may or may not have damaged some of the connectors (hard to tell).

In any event, I want to sell the iPhone and am concerned that it may still have some data on it. It doesn't seem to power up with the screen disconnected, so I can't wipe it that way. So I have set it for a mobileme remote wipe in the event that the buyer powers it up.

Will this realistically protect me and wipe the data when the buyer get it working again?

Thanks.
